A kind donation from the first B Corps store that was set up to make no sales!
Good News, the UK's first sustainability and socially conscious retail pop-up store with over 100 B Corp brands and hundreds of environmentally friendly products, opened to the public in London last month. However, the well-stocked store was not set up to make any sales! Good News was established to showcase the B Corps brands; ethically-conscious businesses that benefit communities and the planet, while showing consumers how they can ‘buy better’.
The store operated for a few weeks in central London before closing its doors on March 31st.
Most of its products were donated to the Felix Project, London's largest food redistribution company.
We were delighted to receive a message from the brains behind the concept, B Lab UK and Freud, inviting Refuge Network to collect a donation of boxes of toiletries from the store. In the words of Freud's Maude Sieghart, 'We are happy to have donated to such an important cause and to know that the donations will go to people who really need them'.
We have started distributing the items to service users!Thank you, B Corps!
Keep up the good work!
